About Us

Mindful Explorers has been founded by Gyalsten K Dorji and Dhondup Dorji Roder. We are both part of the 21st generation of the Ogyen Choling family.

Gyalsten works and lives with his family in Thimphu. He and his wife also run a small woodworking shop called Tsem (which means 'to play or toys' in Dzongkha) that specialises in educational toys and tools for children.

Dhondup works and lives with his family in Switzerland. He is a graphic artist/designer, while his wife runs the Lhasa Boutique, a business that specializes in handicrafts from the Himalayan region.

Dhondup's parents, author Kunzang Choden and Walter Roder reside in Ogyen Choling and manage the Ogyen Choling Museum and Heritage House.
