Why visit Bhutan

  1. Natural Beauty: Bhutan's pristine landscapes, from the towering Himalayan peaks to lush valleys and dense forests, provide stunning scenery that is relatively untouched by modern development. Our Constitution mandates that at least 60% of the country remain under forest cover for all time and today around 71% of the country remains forested.
  2. Cultural Richness: Bhutan has preserved its traditional culture and heritage remarkably well. You can explore ancient fortresses (dzongs) and monasteries, vibrant festivals (like the famous Paro Tsechu), and experience the hospitality of the Bhutanese people.
  3. Gross National Happiness (GNH): Bhutan famously measures its progress not just by economic indicators but also by GNH, which prioritizes the well-being and happiness of its citizens. This unique approach to governance sets Bhutan apart.
  4. Regulated Tourism: Bhutan regulates tourism through a "High Value, Low Impact" policy, meaning it carefully controls the number of visitors to preserve its culture and environment. This makes for a more exclusive and authentic experience.
  5. Outdoor Activities: Whether you enjoy trekking through the Himalayas, wildlife spotting in national parks, or exploring ancient trails, Bhutan offers numerous outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike.
  6. Spiritual Retreat: Bhutan is deeply rooted in Buddhism, and visitors can immerse themselves in spiritual practices, visit sacred sites like Tiger's Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), and learn about the country's spiritual traditions.
  7. Safe and Peaceful Environment: Bhutan is known for its safety and the peaceful atmosphere it provides to visitors. Crime rates are low, and the country promotes a serene environment conducive to relaxation and introspection.
